Hosted by USC Gould School of Law and the Beverly Hills Bar Association, the Institute on Entertainment Law and Business has been a Los Angeles tradition for over 50 years. Join dozens of well-known speakers and over 650 of your professional peers to address the latest challenges facing the industry. With morning plenary sessions, four networking opportunities and afternoon breakouts that allow in-depth learning with industry leaders in an intimate setting, this is the can't-miss event for entertainment law and business leaders.
Planning for the 2013 Institute is currently underway. The Institute will be held at the USC University Park campus on October 5, 2013, and will feature the big names, informative panels and real-world takeaways seen at past Institutes. We can confirm that Kevin Tsujihara (CEO, Warner Bros. Entertainment) will participate in this year's special luncheon keynote conversation with Bruce Ramer. Professor Jeffrey Cole (Director, Center for the Digital Future) will return to provide his ever-popular Industry update. Jeff Frost (EVP, Business Affairs, Sony Pictures Television) will also be speaking.
Four networking opportunities will help you make the most of the current market by reconnecting with former, present, and future clients and colleagues. A Review of the 2012 Institute
Jim Gianopulos (Chairman and CEO of Twentieth Century Fox Film) participated in a special luncheon keynote conversation with Bruce Ramer. Popular speaker USC Professor Jeffrey Cole (Director, Center for the Digital Future) returned to provide an update on the Industry, its trends, fads and transformation. Other morning sessions included the intersection of First Amendment rights and content protection, YouTube success stories and deals (featuring Internet sensation Sam Tsui) and the resurgence of independent films. Afternoon sessions covered reality talent deals, conflicts of interest and fee arrangements, hot topics in production legal, talent relationships with agents and managers and talent, and dealing with talent unions. With over 30 engaging and insightful speakers showing how to make the most of the constantly evolving entertainment landscape, the 2012 Institute garnered overwhelmingly positive reviews.
