Grade.  Your grade in this class will be based on:

              Class participation (25%)

              Take home exam (75%)

No laptops. Laptops, iPads, cellphones and similar devices may not be used during class for notes or other purposes. While in class, you should focus on thinking, not note taking. To make most note taking unnecessary, I will distribute my PowerPoint slides and post an audio recording of each class.

Attendance.  Because I will be posting an audio recording of each class, as well as my PowerPoint Slides, it will be very tempting to skip class. To counteract that temptation, class attendance is mandatory. If you are going to miss a class, please email me in advance at dklerman@law.usc.edu.

Class Participation. Participation in class discussion is an essential part of the learning process. I may call on students randomly, whether they volunteer to answer a particular question or not. I will sometimes ask for volunteers. If you are unprepared for class, please e-mail me before class, dklerman@law.usc.edu. It is better for everyone if I do not call on someone who is unprepared. Because of the importance of class participation, it will be graded.

Class materials.  Class materials, including audio recordings, are for the use of students in the March 2012 Tel Aviv University course only.  They should not be copied, shared, or distributed to anyone not in this year’s class without permission from Daniel Klerman.  Unauthorized copying, sharing, or distribution is a violation of copyright law.
