Master of Laws in Taxation

Tax LLM

USC Law has proudly launched its LL.M. in Taxation degree program. Our program is small and admission is highly selective. We will enroll our first class in fall 2010 of outstanding full-time and part-time U.S. and foreign law graduates who are interested in the advanced knowledge of tax law. USC Law students develop a broad set of tax lawyering skills through intensive study and gain a deep understanding of the policies that form the basis of tax laws. They obtain specialized knowledge in the area of tax law to become leaders in the legal profession and business fields.

The LL.M. in Taxation curriculum provides students with opportunities to gain a comprehensive education in tax law, through USC Law courses taught by accomplished faculty, tax scholars and experienced lecturers. Domestic students may enroll on a full-time or part-time basis. International students may enroll on a full-time basis only.

The University of Southern California Gould School of Law faculty, students and staff have access to a host of both print and electronic resources through the Law Library and the Central University Library. The Law Library continues to expand its electronic tax materials. Current electronic tax resources include Lexis/Nexis, Westlaw, BNA Tax Resources, RIA Checkpoint, Hein Online Taxation & Economic Reform in America and IBFD Online Publications.

Our LL.M. in Taxation students are invited to attend the USC Law Continuing Legal Education (CLE) annual conferences, including our Tax Institute and Trust & Estate Conference, where valuable connections with tax law professionals, peers and USC Law alumni can be made.
