The USC Law Firm Challenge began in 2006 to further strengthen the connection between alumni, the law firms and organizations they represent, and the USC Gould School of Law. Challenge participants aim for 100% alumni giving in their respective organizations, providing critical support to the law school's Annual Fund and helping to bolster the law school's percentage of alumni support - a number crucial to the school's reputation.

Challenge winners - those who reach 100% participation and the firm with the highest percentage of USC Law Leadership Society members - receive special recognition and rewards for their role in strengthening the legendary Trojan Network while enhancing the profile of their firms and organizations.

Message from the 2013 Law Firm Challenge Chair

David Walsh '85

David Walsh is a partner in the Litigation practice of Morrison Foerster in the Los Angeles office, focusing on class action and other business, commercial and environmental matters. Mr. Walsh is active in a variety of bar and community organizations, including the Board of Councilors for the USC Gould School of Law.

When USC asked me to lead the effort for the annual Law Firm Challenge, I happily agreed. After all, the challenge plays to one of our law school's strength - our legendary Trojan Network! It also appeals to my spirit of competition, not just among firms, but also with the alumni of other law schools, in particular, our cross-town rival (our friends in Westwood).

Of course, UCLA Law conducts the most successful challenge in all of law school world, so the competition will be stiff. Click here to see for yourself.

I hope you take this challenge to heart, not just to best the Bruins (I know some of you have UCLA loyalties), but to help ensure the continued strength and vitality of our law school. USC Gould takes competition seriously as well. In order to maintain our status as an elite institution, USC must and does compete for the best students and the best faculty. Our school must and does offer an outstanding and dynamic education. That commitment, and that success, is what we are supporting when we join our participation to the Challenge.

If your firm is not yet part of the Challenge, please click here to sign up. The Challenge will run through the spring semester, ending Commencement Day. I am convinced that as participants in the Law Firm Challenge, we will have something to celebrate.

Fight On! It's what we do.
