Professor Klerman was awarded the 2006 Gabriel and Matilda Barnett Summer Professorship by the USC Law and Business Schools for support of research in law & economics.

April

Professor Klerman presented his paper, "Jurisdictional Competition and the Evolution of the Common Law," at Columbia Law School's law and economics workshop.

Professor Klerman's article, "Trademark Dilution, Search Costs, and Naked Licensing," was published in 74 Fordham Law Review 1759 (2006).

May

Four members of the USC law faculty -- Professors Kamar, Klerman, Leshem and Spindler -- presented papers at the American Law and Economics Association annual meeting.

July

Professors Klerman and Hadfield will present papers at the NBER Law and Economics Summer Institute.

September

Professor Klerman and his co-author, Paul Mahoney, will present their paper, "English Legal Exceptionalism" in Madrid, Spain, at the annual meeting of the European Law and Economics Association.

October

Professor Klerman will present his paper, "Jurisdictional Competition and the Evolution of the Common Law," at law and economics workshops at the University of Chicago and Northwestern Law Schools.

January

Professor Kamar's paper (co-authored with Pinar Karaca-Mandic and Eric Talley), "Going-Private Decisions and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002: A Cross-Country Analysis," will be presented at the American Economic Association Annual Meeting.

April

Professor Kamar will present his paper, "Does Shareholder Voting on Acquisitions Matter?" at the Northwestern Law and Economics Colloquium.
