•  Downtown LA Foodie Field Trip/ Six Taste Tour

Don't miss a mouth-watering experience! Join your fellow Law School Alumni in exploring tastings at some of the most diverse landmarks in the downtown area. This event will held be on Saturday, November 19, 2011 from 1:30pm-5:20pm on 532 South Olive Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013 (the Northeast corner of 5th and Oliver). Step amidst the rich local culinary scene of the district and get an insider's scoop of the local history. Highlights include pupusas, mac and cheese, and modern Thai cuisine. Parking is available at Pershing Square for $6.50 or for $6 at the open lot at the corner of Olive street and 5th Street.Please RSVP at alumni@law.usc.edu by November 17th. •  Santa Monica USC vs. Notre Dame Game Watching Party

Come cheer on the Trojans in the fight to win against Notre Dame. The event is on Saturday, October 22,2011 at 4:30pm kickoff in Q's Billiard Club & Restaurant, located on 11835 Whilshire Boulevard West Los Angeles, CA 90025. This is hosted by Nina Reis '01 and Jesse Fruman '07 as well as the USC Law Alumni Committee. Complimentary game food will be provided. •   October 8: USC LAW FAMILY PUMPKIN PATCH EVENT- IRVINE

Bring your family and join your fellow USC Law Alumni for a Tanaka Farms visit with a wagon ride, petting zoo, corn maze, vegetables from the vegetable patch and a pumpkin that the child can carry. Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 4 from 2 - 4 pm at Douglas Park in Santa Monica for a carnival themed picnic for USC Law alumni and their families, featuring games, photo ops, a balloon artist, a face painter and cotton candy! The first 24 children in attendance will receive a special gift bag. This is one of our first family events so please come out and support so we can continue these types of activities!

• March 24: YOUNG ALUMNI & 3L EVENT - DOWNTOWN LA

The Young Alumni Committee is excited to announce that we will be hosting a 3L/Alumni Mixer on Thursday, March 24th at BottleRock in Downtown LA from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.This will be a great opportunity to reconnect with classmates, mingle with other USC Law alumni, and share your wealth of knowledge and post-law school experience with the graduating 3L class.The 3L class is very excited about this event and the opportunity to speak with recent alumni about life after graduation (i.e. tips for studying for the bar, making it through the first couple years as a young associate, alternative career paths, searching for a job while studying for the bar, etc.).

Also, the winemakers will be bringing soil samples to touch, raw juice to taste, and stories to hear from the winery to make you feel like you were part of this year's harvest.

For $30 (normally $51 - USC Law School is picking up the tab on the rest) enjoy the Academy as it transforms every Thursday evening for NightLife, a 21+ event featuring music, cocktails, and science with an exclusive experience, take a NightLife VIP Tour. The evening begins with an open bar cocktail reception and hors d’oeuvres, followed by an hour-long tour with an expert guide. Open bar and hors d'oeuvres begin promptly at 6:00pm. Tour leaves at 6:30pm without exception.

• January 20: ALUMNI SEMINAR: "How to Build and Grow Your Own Law Practice"

Join the Young Alumni Committee in hearing highly sought-after speaker, Jay Foonberg for a talk entitled, "How to Start and Build Your Own Law Practice" on January 20 at 6:15 p.m. in the Law School Room 103. Jay Foonberg will speak about starting and growing a law practice, or managing an existing solo or small firm practice. He will offer guidance on identifying the right location, finding clients, setting fees, managing your office, maintaining an ethical and responsible practice, maximizing available resources, upholding ethical standards, and more. The USC Gould School of Law, a State Bar of California-approved MCLE provider, certifies that this activity quialifies for MCLE credit of 1 hour. Cost: FREE.
